Independent volume and gain control for all three channels has arrived with the 5150III® 50W EL34 head. Experience total control, along with the same lethal looks and ferocious EL34 tone of the 100-Watt head.

The EL34 power tubes deliver signature harmonic overtones, with more dynamic compression and saturation that evoke a more modern “British” sound, all with the sustain and versatility expected from EVH® 5150III® amps.

Channel one boasts a more sparkling and compressed clean tone, while channels two and three possess a slightly darker and compressed tone with even more saturation than before. Channels one and two each have dual concentric gain/volume controls, with shared EQ (low, mid, high), while channel 3 has an independent EQ. Other features include a rear-panel resonance control that tailors low-frequency response for all channels and a global presence control.

Wrapped in an elegant gold and black EVH motif, the EL34 50-watt head also is equipped with an effects loop, headphone jack, pre-amp out and midi-in.

In 1979, Eddie Van Halen started a revolution with a quartet of EL34’s. Today that revolution continues with the 5150III 50W EL34 Head — delivering Lethal Looks and Ferocious EL34 Tone.

Its three (Clean, Crunch and Lead) channels capture a vast tonal landscape similar in style to what can be heard on early Van Halen records, delivering signature melodic overtones with increased dynamic compression and saturation to evoke a more modern “British” sound, all with boundless sustain and versatility.

Channel one soars with unmatched sparkly cleans and compressed tone. Channel two delivers blistering overdrive and darker, spongier tones, while channel three pushes the gain to its limits for standout leads.

The 50W EL34 Head features dual concentric controls that allow you to independently dial-in volume and gain for Ch. 1 and 2 for level matching. Ch. 3 has its own gain, low, mid, high and volume dials. A global presence knob on the front panel creates full control over ultra-high frequencies, while the rear global resonance knob adjusts the power amp’s low frequency response.

There is no shortage of roaring tonal EL34 tonal swagger with this head, courtesy of its two JJ EL34 Apex Matched power tubes and seven JJ ECC83S (12AX7) preamp tubes, which sear with classic British tone that cuts through the mix with astounding mid-range clarity and crispy highs for the pinnacle of intense, high-gain performance.

This amp also features a MIDI rear panel input, which allows you to directly connect a digital effects interface and sync your tone to your favorite patch for even more tonal variance, a headphone jack and a 4-button footswitch that allows you to quickly toggle between the channels or engage the effects loop.

Items purchased from our store will typically ship out within 1 business day of receiving payment. UPS Ground, FedEx, or USPS, fully insured, will be used for shipping instruments and large items. Items over $300 will require a signature.  Apartment addresses will have a mandatory signature requirement.

Most purchases leave our warehouse within 2 business-days of receipt of your order. Orders received on Friday, Saturday & Sunday will ship out Monday. (Our shipping department is closed on weekends & major US holidays.)
